Roy Messer is the owner of FreeStuff.com, a developed and highly monetized domain that refines and drives traffic to various advertisers across myriad industries and services. Roy is perhaps best known for his 2006 sale of Vodka.com, for $3-million dollars. The domain sale was one of the second-largest category-killer sales of 2006, and it heralded the start of a season of large-scale domain sales that continued through 2007.
Roy's experience in the industry also includes defending some of his domains from high-profile reverse hijacking attempts, including the 2009 effort by National Rent-A-Car to grab nationalrentacar.com. Roy, along with his attorney Ari Goldberger, successfully argueed there was no bad faith intent when Roy registered his domain in 2000, and that National had given up any rights to argue bad faith because it waited nearly 10 years before filing a UDRP.
